Bakari Sellers was born and raised in Denmark, South Carolina, the son of Civil Rights hero, Cleveland Sellers. At the age of 22, Sellers was elected to represent South Carolina’s 90th district in the lower house of the state legislature from 2006 to 2014, making him the youngest African American elected official in the country. Sellers is currently an attorney and a political analyst on CNN.
